Do You Like How You Look?
I am struggling. A door has been opened to me to be interviewed on television with my latest book. I have always been self-conscious about my appearance in photos or on camera because of the bump on my head that makes my eyes uneven. I wondered if this would take away from the interview. How could God get glory out of the way I look? I was close to canceling the invitation, but the Lord spoke to me. "Son, I could use you more if you
looked worse." The scripture then came to me, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
I never understood until now what a minister once said to me, "Bill, you have two things going for you. One is your humor and the other is the bump on your head. You get people's attention." I want to encourage you today. Whatever you think about your looks, God sees us different. We are beautiful in His eyes and one day we'll all have perfect bodies in heaven, except for One. He will wear nailed scarred hands throughout
eternity. His name is Jesus. Oh, how I boast in His scars.
"Then He said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.' Thomas said to him, 'My Lord and my God." John 20:27,28 (NIV)
