A Glimpse of Heaven
I spoke at my mother's church awhile back. It was the first time she wasn't there when I ministered. She has moved to another location. She's in her mansion just over the hill top in that bright land where we'll never grow old.
Her new address is "Glory Hallelujah" along the streets of gold and she hasn't stopped dancing since she left here. I can hear her saying, "Make sure you get up here. This place is something else. I can't describe it. You'll have to come see it for yourself." I know now what my mother experienced a split second before she left this world. She caught a glimpse of heaven and it took her breath away.
I talked to Mom shortly before she left. She said, "Bill, I can't tell everyone this for they wouldn't believe it, but I wanted to let you know. I was feeling discouraged and all of a sudden I was in the lap of Jesus. I don't know how I got there. He put His arm around me and I felt the greatest peace I have ever known."
This was one more reason I called Mom almost every day to see what God was doing in her life. I remember thinking the day would come when I would call her and the phone would ring and there would be no answer. But since the day Mom went to be with Jesus, I have never dialed that number again, not even by mistake. Unspeakable joy has filled me knowing she is fully alive and I will see her again where the roses never fade. I believe the words of this song by
Terry Smith (paraphrased by me ) describe her joyful anticipation as she waits to see us again.
I'll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan
I'll be dancing; kickin ' up gold dust with your dad
And when we see you coming we will jump up with a shout
And come running through the shallow waters reaching for your hand.
Whispers From Heaven...
* Remember, when you are considering writing someone off, they are probably on "God's Most Wanted List."
* I asked the Lord, "Can I write when I get to heaven?" He said, "Yep, there's a whole lot to write about up here."
* Samson's hair began to grow again and so is America's. I am going to go ahead and shout Glory!
