When We Pray Like a Child Believing, the Sickness Will Be-Leaving!
My son, Joel, at seven years of age had severe stomach problems for two weeks. After coming home from the doctor, who didn't know where the problem was coming from, the Holy Spirit quickened to me the scripture in James 5:14-15: "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up..."
It seems so easy to check out earthly doctors before going to the Great Physician.
At the next Sunday morning service, my wife and I took Joel down to the altar to have the elders anoint and pray over him concerning his stomach. Upon leaving the service and getting into our car, I said to my wife, "Let's stop on the way home and eat lunch at the community festival."
Joel spoke up from the back seat of the car, "Can I have some French fries when we get there?" I said, "Joel, I don't know about your stomach." He answered, "I got prayed for, didn't I?"
As he spoke those words the strongest conviction came over me. I have been in full-time ministry at the time for 25 years, and my wife and I take him to get anointed and prayed for by the elders, and we come away from that altar, and he gets it, and we missed it by a thousand light years!
When we arrived on the festival grounds, we got him French fries, barbecued chicken, and a giant-size drink of lemonade. I was afraid not to get him anything he wanted, because the Bible says, "According to 'your' faith, be it unto you!" I didn't want to mess his faith up! I perceived that he had great faith in spite of my unbelief.
Leaving the festival grounds and walking towards the car, Joel spied a humongous, sugar colored lollypop (I think they are banned in most states). As he glanced at one, I said to my wife, "Get the thing and let's go home!"
Child's Stomach Miraculously Healed! - Confirmed by French Fries, Barbecued Chicken, A Large Lemonade, and A Giant Sugar Lollypop!
As we got in the car, Joel jumped in the back seat and shut the door...no more stomach problems! He either ate it away or God healed him! Either way was a miracle!
When was the last time you received prayer for healing and someone later, especially the devil, asked you how you were feeling? What was your response? When is the last time you said to that person, or to the devil himself, "I got prayed for, didn't I?"
