Table Ministry
I believe more can happen over a table with a few believers eating together than in a huge conference. Is it any wonder the last thing Jesus wanted was an intimate supper with His disciples, including Judas. He was also judged... "He dines with tax collectors and sinners." Matthew 10:9:10 (NIV). At the table is where we get to know one another and build relationships even with people whose
attitudes or beliefs oppose our own. Was Jesus setting that example? I believe so. Set the table!
Dear Friends,
We are so thankful for the Lord's huge table spread of food and friends over the
years. Food does wonders in helping us understand one another. I can't help think of the best meal yet at a table with Jesus. Some people sitting across from us may make us wonder how they got there. My conclusion will be... the man hanging on the middle cross told them they could come. We may have to ask the person we didn't agree with down here to pass the mashed potatoes, please?
