Dear Friends,
On our recent trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania while ministering to the Amish and Mennonite Community,
they set up a private tour for us to meet with the creator of Sight and Sound productions, Brother Glenn Eshelman. In a huge barn on his property, he shared how it all started. When he was five years old, his parents realized he had a gift to draw and encouraged him to pursue it. Several years later someone introduced him to a few oil paints. From there, the sky was the limit. God's creativity combined with Glenn's burning passion to paint the Bible stories as though he was in them himself. His
work began touching the world.
Years later, while attending a farm show and looking at a cow, the Lord spoke to him, "Everyone loves animals. I want you to produce a Noah's Ark performance." At the time, it seemed impossible to produce a show with so many animals, but with live and automated animals it has become the signature play at Sight and Sound. Noah's Ark is returning this March.
What stood out to me the most from this awesome tour was when Brother Glenn said, "My life story has been standing on what God speaks to me in spite of the opposition of even friends telling me, "That can't be done!" He said, "I have fought for everything I have accomplished for God's Kingdom."
He continued to say, "Often obedience can be a lonely place. The scripture I've learned to stand on is what Mary
said to the angel when receiving the most impossible word ever heard from Heaven, 'May your word to me be fulfilled.'" Luke 1:38 (NIV)
That's a word and a thought for each one of us to stand on... May His Word be fulfilled in our lives.
