"We Gotta Keep Singing!"
Dear Friends,
My wife's Uncle Horst Kohlstadt recently went home to be with the Lord. He was 95 years old, a godly man with a servant's heart. He blessed
Dagmar and me personally many times even influencing the path of my ministry.
Horst loved to sing. Through the years we often visited him and his family. I played my guitar, and we all sang together. The presence of the Lord always came in a special way. One time, in their upstairs which became famously known as "The Upper Room," the presence of the Lord was so thick, that we found ourselves overcome with dancing and joy unspeakable and full of
Glory! It was a time I remember vividly.
Last year, we visited Uncle Horst ( or Uncle Hoddo as we called him ) and Aunt Lisa in their Assisted Living Center. We sang together in his little bedroom. We didn't know it would be one of the last times we'd hear Horst sing with us. When we finished the last song, he said softly, but haltingly, "We... gotta... keep... singing." I sensed it wasn't just Horst saying that, but the Lord was issuing a command from
the Throne for the crucial times we are living in now.
When I sang at His going home celebration, I shared those words with an overflowing audience. It came like a prophecy to all of us. Since hearing "We gotta keep singing!", the Lord has reminded me how I used to sing with my guitar early in ministry. I sang songs He would give me -- singing words He was speaking to me personally. Then I'd share and sing them again in my travels. So now I've started
doing that again, and I find that I'm edifying myself and many others. I think Uncle Hoddo would be pleased.
** Thank you so much for your prayers of protection and support as we travel. We had a mechanical problem on our last trip 4 hours away from home, but my trusted mechanic said it was safe to drive back to get it repaired. So again your prayers keep us protected.
With love,
Bill and Dagmar
