A Call to The Harvest Fields (Part 2)
God has put a genuine longing into many of us for the prophesied a "harvest of souls" at the end of the age. Could it be that the Harvest
will be of benefit to us as well as those who come to salvation?
In the natural, it's important to bring in the harvest. It's our food and sustenance. The natural harvest sustains life and health. Could a spiritual harvest also hold spiritual nourishment that we have lacked in our walk with God? Could there be sustenance in the Harvest fields that we have yet to discover? Personally, I
believe there is.
After Jesus's encounter with the woman at the well, the disciples returned with food. They wondered why Jesus wasn't hungry and encouraged Him to eat. He said, "I have meat to eat that you don't know about!" (John 4:32) The disciples thought someone had actually brought Jesus something to eat. He then explained, "My meat (sustenance) comes from doing the will of Him that sent Me."
In verse 35, Jesus tells His disciples to "Lift up your eyes and look on the harvest fields, for they are white already to harvest."
I believe Jesus was showing us that in reaching out to the lost, we receive nourishment and satisfaction in our own lives. Sounds like Jesus got something in the harvest field that He didn't get in the temple! I believe the Lord has put such a high priority on reaching
the lost that there are also wages and rewards given that we have yet to experience. The devil will tell you, "Don't go to the harvest fields until you feel good enough and are prepared." But it's in the "going" that God equips us and anoints us - while we are in the harvest fields. The anointing for the Harvest is in the harvest itself.
I believe the Harvest is so ripe, so ready that as we walk
into these harvest fields, many of us will discover not only the lost being touched, but we ourselves will find nourishment so sustaining that healings and deliverances will be taking place in our own lives. All Glory to God!
Follow Jesus into the harvest fields. There you will find food to sustain your own life. Forget the reason you are still waiting. Jesus already said "GO!"
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your prayers for our health, protection and support that keeps us going farther than we thought we could ever go.
With love,
Bill and Dagmar
