Keeping Prayer Simple

I will never forget the simple childlike prayer my mother prayed when the doctor wanted to take her foot off because of diabetes. She reasoned with the Lord. "Lord, You don't need my foot and I do." And then she told the doctor, "When I go to heaven I'm taking my foot with me." It was months of warfare and therapy, but Mom walked again and took her foot to heaven.

At 90 years of age, my mother had an unusual request for our family. "When they lay me in the casket, I don't want them to put any shoes or socks on me. I want to dance on the streets of gold in my bare feet." The funeral director agreed. Mom went barefoot into glory many years ago, and I sense she is still dancing up there.

Why do I tell you this story? Because I think sometimes we feel like the length of our prayers or the way we pray makes a difference to God. The truth is, He just wants to hear what's on our heart.

Dear Friends,

Your prayers seem to pry doors open for us, sometimes at the last minute. Years ago I asked the Lord how long our type of ministry would be needed? I sensed Him saying, "As long as you are breathing, people will need to be encouraged." I'm convinced that although the Lord uses me in sharing prophetic messages, it's all about encouragement. It seems that most people on earth just want to know how to make it through the day. The encouragement Dagmar and I are able to give goes a long way, including trusting God for tomorrow. Thanks for going with us on this journey with your prayers and financial support.
